Before Propel, he ran SOLID Tool Chests on Shopify — packed orders, wrote the listings, watched the analytics dashboard refuse to answer the question that mattered: why didn't this person buy? That's where Replays came from. The merchant empathy in the apps isn't a marketing line — it's the lived version of being on the other side of the install button.
Today Chris leads a small team (about 3.5 devs) shipping five Shopify apps — Replays, Appointments, Subscriptions, Upsells, and Warranty — used by 10,000+ stores. Profitable since 2019, no outside funding, no plans to change either of those.
On this site he writes about Shopify CRO, session replay and heatmaps, what actually moves conversion rate, and honest competitor comparisons (the comparisons are honest because the credibility of the page depends on it — and because the right tool for a given store sometimes isn't ours).
He writes for the merchant he was seven years ago, not for an SEO scoring tool.
